Pregnancy and birth is the single biggest physical and emotional change that can take place in a woman’s life. Whilst there are a number of different ways to support women on this journey, yoga is a holistic approach that has been used all around the world for hundreds of years.

If you are a first time Mum, or have been through the experience before, it can still be a time of change and uncertainty. Prenatal yoga can calm Mum and baby for the future ahead and give you time to escape from it all. Physically, as you and your baby develop, yoga can bridge the gap in embracing these changes and help with truly appreciating your body during this amazing time.

Alongside practicing yoga myself throughout two pregnancies, I am a fully qualified pre and postnatal, as well as Mum & Baby, yoga teacher, accredited with Sally Parkes Pregnancy Yoga. No matter at what stage of pregnancy or motherhood you are at, I can help support you with the above on your journey.

Pregnancy yoga

Yoga can help to relax, unwind and relieve common pregnancy ailments, such as tight muscles, sciatica, back pain, pelvic girdle pain, heartburn and insomnia. A greater outcome from prenatal yoga is to feel supported and part of a community where you can be around other Mums and like-minded individuals to help you on your pregnancy journey.

Postnatal yoga

Postnatal yoga is designed to help replace energy that you inevitably lose as a new Mum. Classes are designed to give something back to your body, rather than taking away from it. As well as strengthening your body, postnatal yoga is equally beneficial in calming the mind, helping you to reconnect with both.

Mum & baby yoga

When a new baby arrives, there are many expectations put upon a new Mum. This overwhelming stage can be soothed by finding a community where you can give back to yourself, as well as your baby, whilst meeting other like-minded Mums. Mum and baby yoga is a gentle way to get your body and mind back into exercise, whilst building a bond with your baby, and is a proven method for aiding aches and pains post pregnancy.
